Can no longer maximize several programs

Some of my programs suddenly won't open on the screen.  They 'open' and are visible on the task bar, but won't come up on the screen.  I ran Malware Bytes but no issues were indicated.  Tried to scan with ESET and that won't come up on the screen so that
I can even click for a scan.  My Corel Painter X program won't come up.  I've tried to open these both on desktop and from the program list, but they won't open on the screen.  I downloaded current updates from Windows but didn't change anything.  I looked
at the info for Dr.
Watson, but that's too technical for me to understand. I right-clicked on the Corel Painter and went to properties to fix it on Maximize, but that didn't work.  If this is a 'system' problem, I don't know what to do or why it came about. 
I've un-installed and re-installed my Corel Painter several times, but nothing changes.  Any help would be appreciated.  I'm not very technically capable so need some direct and easy instructions as to how I should proceed.  Thanks so much!

Make sure your computer has at least the minimum amount of random access memory (RAM) required to run the program that is displaying the error. Look for the program requirements online or in the packaging information.
